Lake Marie and Lake Catherine are pleasant lakes in the Fox River's Chain O` Lakes. Explore them this Spring before they become crowded with motor boats. We'll start with a cookout at 11:00 a.m. at a member's home on Lake Catherine and then paddle to Lake Catherine and back. Local pollution is impairing the water quality in the summer, and we will spend some time taking samples and measurements to learn about it.
Participants must bring a a canoe or kayak, or paddle with someone who does.

This is outing requires paddlers to have the ability to paddle several miles on open water with moderate waves, and will offer a review of paddling skills on shore. Participants must fill out the On-line Questionnaire and be approved by the leader in advance. Print and sign the Liability Waiver and bring it to the picnic. If you bring your own canoe, it must have a sticker from the Fox Waterway Agency ($10). Indicate on the questionnaire if you would like me to buy one for your canoe. Carpooling encouraged. Please sign up, and indicate whether you have a canoe, an open seat, and a transport vehicle. Plans will be made accordingly.
