Turn L on Middlefork Rd. Go straight through circle. Park in huge lot beyond Middlefork Farm. Look for RED sports car with Sierra Club poster.

 Sun Lake Stewardship, February 2003 !

Before

Facing E, on the NE edge of the farm field N of Sun Lake.

We continued clearing a strip wide enough to free the large oaks that border the farm field to the W. 
 

After

We cut and heaped choke cherry and buckthorn  in a heap in the right foregound.

Now that light can reach the ground, we hope for young oak saplings to sprout under the older trees.

 

Before

Facing SSE, on the NE edge of the farm field NE of Sun Lake.

 

After

This forest edge marches S toward the E side of Sun Lake. Our hope is that the native seed bank beneath these trees will sprout and spread into the recovering farm field.
