Save Our Special Places The Sierra Club began as a few people who found the magnificent wilderness areas they loved threatened by deforestation. They decided to show others its beauty, and stopped the wanton destruction. W&W continues that proud tradition with hikes to special places. Whether a Forest Preserve property escaping from the invasion of exotic species, a marsh saved by a local community, or a heron rookery imperiled by a senseless tollway, each offers a chance to appreciate firsthand what can be lost - and what can be saved, for our families, and for our future.

Sign up on the Outings List to request and be notified of Outings.
Please contact the leader to reserve a spot on the outing. Unless stated, no show 'n go's.
Unless stated, fees cover only outing costs. Fees for day outings collected at the trailhead, but reservations must be made by cut-off date.
Fees for overnight outings are collected in advance, with at least 50% due with reservation. Cancellations after cut-off date can result in loss of deposit, to cover trip costs. To discourage frivolous reservations, deposits (50%) are non-refunded after wait-list starts, and will go to wait-listed participants.

Sponsored outings are lead by a certified Sierra Club Outings Leader, trained in CPR/First Aid, and often feature a local authority as a guide.
