Sierra Club volunteers are working hard this election season to keep Illinois on the right path for the environment. We have identified environmental champions in dozens of races across Illinois. While some may think this election does not matter, November 2 may determine whether Illinois keeps moving to clean energy, or goes back to the days of subsidizing coal and nuclear.
Illinois voters are angry and disillusioned. And, who could blame them? Voters aren't angry that Illinois is going green, but a red tide of anti-incumbent anger endangers even some of our strongest champions, and threatens the progress we have made.
With poor turn out expected, many races will be decided by a handful of votes. We know Sierra Club's support may make the difference for many of these candidates, and we hope you can help make our environment a winner on November 2 by considering our endorsements when you cast your vote. If you have an evening, afternoon, or more time to spare between now and the election, we invite you to join our volunteers in making the difference in these races.
