Committee Meetings

Committee meetings are typically held in Sierra Club activist's homes. Committee meetings are an excellent way for volunteers who wish to get more involved in the various Club activities to learn more about the Club and to get directly involved. For the locations of the committee meetings, please call the activist who is hosting the committee meeting.

The River Prairie Group Executive Committee is the committee that oversees all of the functions of the Group. Committee chairpersons and coordinators report to the Executive Committee on the progress of the committees.

For more detail information and/or for the descriptions of the various meetings, please call the River Prairie Group Hotline at 630-620-0470. Committee activities or functions are described on the Volunteer page of this web site. The Executive Committee makeup is described in the Executive Committee page of this web site.

Executive Committee Meetings

Most Executive Committee meetings are held approximately 5 or 6 times a year. The meetings are generally held at the homes of various members of the Executive Committee. To find out about the exact times and locations of the Executive Committee meetings please contact Frank Orto at 630-519-4359. Non-Executive Committee members are invited to attend these meetings to get a feel for how this committee functions and to get an idea of the major issues being address by the River Prairie Group.

Outings Committee Meetings

The Outings Committee generally meets on the first Wednesday of each month. The Outings Committee meets in various homes of the active outings leaders. These are good meetings to attend if you are interested in becoming an outings leader or are simply interested in the planning and operations of the Outings Committee. For more information on the Outings Committee and for more information on the location and time of the meetings of this committee, please contact Steve Turner at (630) 782-5865.
