Description: Hearty outdoor people will enjoy this laid back early winter campout and leisure canoe/kayak trip. We will paddle 20 miles during our weekend outing. The Tippecanoe River is a gentle Hooiser stream with no rapids, waterfalls or dams. We will be car camping on the banks of the river at the deserted Tippecanoe River State Park about 2 hours from Chicago. Hardy group meals as well as fun is planned around the campfire. Conservation issues will also be discussed. If canoeing is not your thing--join us anyway and hike the parks extensive trail system. Bring your own canoe or kayak or we will try to find a canoe spot for you. To sign up call Leaders: Mary Ellen Modica (773-237-7187) or Rich Balis (773-254-2383).
