Transportation:
Illinois Clean Car Act

Our Position: support
Bill Number: HB3424
Sponsor: Rep. Karen May
Legislative Session: 95th General Assembly 2008

The Illinois Clean Car Act will make Illinois a leader in the Midwest, establishing a Clean Car Program on par with those already in force in thirteen states on the East and West coasts. The higher emissions standards set by the Clean Car Program will improve Illinois' air quality, help curb global warming, and save money at the gas pump. And given the rising prices of gas, better fuel economy equals a better Illinois economy -- keeping more money in state, rather than putting Illinois dollars in the pockets of other oil-producing states and countries.
