I-TAN Alerts are now available on this web site. Operation of this telephone network, however, will go on largely unaffected by this additional source. I-TAN will remain completely accessible with no more than a phone, and will continue to rely on the personal communication by its members to activate and respond to the alert. You can call the White House telephone comment line at the President's Office in Washington, D. C. and leave the President and/or Vice President a message at 202-456-1111. The comment line is opened during 8 A.M. to 4 P.M. Central Time, Monday through Friday. When the recorded message comes on, press one for a touch tone phone, then one again for the comment line, then zero to speak to an operator. Once you reach an operator, you can leave a message.

You can send the President a fax message at 202-456-2461, and the Vice President at 202-456-7044..

You can write the President at The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. 20500 and the Vice President at Old Executive Office Building, Washington, D. C. 20501.

You can send the President an e-mail message at president@whitehouse.gov and the Vice President at vice.president@whitehouse.gov.

You can call any member of the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C. by calling the Capitol Switchboard number at 202-224-3121 and then asking for your U.S. Representative or U.S. Senator by name.

You can contact Governor George Ryan of Illinois in Springfield at 217-782-0244, or at 800-642-3112, or in Mt. Vernon at 618/244-8333. Fax messages can be sent at 217-524-4049.

You can call member of the Illinois General Assembly at the Capitol in Springfield by calling the Capitol Switchboard number at 217-782-2000 and then asking for your Illinois State Representative or Illinois State Senator by name.

To obtain the names, addresses, and local phone numbers of your elected representatives for county, state, and federal offices, please call the Board of Elections for the county you reside in. You can also call your local library for this information.
