Motion: by Christine Williamson and seconded by Cory Jones for Illinois Chapter to delegate its authority to approve the following endorsements to the Chapter Political Committee:

Motion: by Christine Williamson and seconded by Cory Jones for Illinois Chapter Excom to approve the creation of and hiring to fill Temporary Campaign Organizer positions at the discretion of the Political Committee, and contingent upon the success of fundraising efforts for the Sierra Club Political Committee to cover costs of the positions. Vote: motion carried unanimously.
Motion: by Christine Williamson and seconded by George Etu for Illinois Chapter Excom to approve the posting to its website edited versions of the Conservation Committee meetings minutes. Vote: 15 for. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion: Christine Williamson and seconded by Deanna Doohaluk for Illinois Chapter to approve expenditures of up to $500 for Jim Bensman’s attendance at the National Forest Protection Alliance Conference, with expenses to come from budget line item #603 Activist Training. Vote: all for. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion: by Deanna Doohaluk and seconded by Jim Bensman for Illinois Chapter to approve a recommendation to the National Litigation Committee that the Club file a petition to U.S. EPA to de-delegate Illinois’ authority to implement the Clean Water Act NPDES program. Vote: all for. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion: by Christine Williamson and seconded by Cory Jones for Illinois Chapter to strongly urge MRCC to establish a Great Lakes Issues task force to bring Chapters leaders from MRCC member Chapters (as well as NY state) together to better coordinate regional activities as well as to work with relevant National committees that will protect the lakes. Great Lakes Issues are assuming greater importance in light of daily beach closures in Chicago and elsewhere, other serious water quality issues, aquatic habitat degradation, proposals for water extraction, navigation plan proposals, invasive species outbreaks and proposed eco-system restoration plans. Therefore, the MRCC should take an active leadership role. Vote: all for. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion: by Deanna Doohaluk and seconded by Cory Jones for Chapter Excom to authorize an increase in budgeted 2004 transfers from Chapter Reserves (Line Item 150) to $100,000. Vote: all for. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion: by Tom Prost and seconded by George Etu for Illinois Chapter to approve the following Finance Committee membership: Chair--Charlie Kubert, Mark Beorkrem, Bill Davies, George Etu, Tom Prost, Don Reichard, Rand Sparling, and Chris van Wassenhove. Vote: all for. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion: by Deanna Doohaluk and seconded by Angela Prost to start Chapter Excom meetings at 10:00AM for the remainder of 2004. Vote: all for. Motion carried unanimously.
