Our Mission: Sierra Club Water Sentinels work to protect, improve and restore our waters by fostering alliances to promote water quality monitoring, public education, and citizen action. Our local Eagle View Group Water Sentinels group samples water from the Rock River and its tributaries once a month weather permitting. The samples are taken to Augustana College where volunteers test the water samples and send the results to Illinois Sierra Club. Next, the data is sent to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.

Your volunteerism would help increase the scope of our sampling and expand our ability to promote clean water issues through education! Please contact Cecilia Vogel at
ceciliavogel@augustana.edu if you are interested in being a  Sierra Club Water Sentinel sampler or tester.
