Volunteers may come any time from 9:00 am to noon to sweep
Meet at the
Montrose Beach House (the large white building
located on the far east side of the beach). It's a
great way to get outdoors, enjoy the lakefront, and do
something to help the lake. If you can, please bring
rubber or plastic gloves, garbage
bags, a pen, and some friends! We will also have
supplies on hand. Volunteers roll up their sleeves and
pick up all the trash from the beach and water's
edge, cataloging the rubbish as they go as part of a
survey of the lake's flotsam and jetsam. Some
unbelievable items wash up on the beach and enough old
clothes, sandals and barrettes are collected to outfit
a family of five! Come for as little or as long as you
can. You don't have to get wet unless you want to and
you won't get very dirty.
Day-of on-site organizer volunteers especially needed
Please arrive at 8:00am and/or stay to 1:00pm to facilitate the setting up and
tearing down of the tents, tables and loading of the equipment as well as
helping with the massive sign-in during the first hour of the event and helping
volunteers with supplies, marking their data sheets throughout the 10:00-Noon
event.
