The Tempest, this
spectacular musical follows a widower who uses his magical powers to protect
the prairie from enemies who want to destroy the land he shares with his
daughter. A cast of actors brings to life—with comedy, drama and even some
romance—the prairie’s plants and creatures, from compassplant and big
bluestem to a yellow-headed blackbird with wisdom to spare. Add a cocky cat
and two English pointers, and the stage is set for a bittersweet musical of
survival and salvation--all informed by our native and majestic, but
fast-disappearing, tall grass prairie. The show will be directed by Page
Hearn, with a cast of 14 actors.
A prompt
RSVP is required.
Seats are limited. Please indicate a
first and second choice of performance dates and include a phone number or
e-mail address so that we may confirm the date of your show.

Sierrans put the FUN in
fundraising -
2003 events
If
you think that fundraising is scary or boring, think again. Don’t believe
me? Come to our next meeting and find out! Let’s face it, money doesn’t grow
on trees, but it does enable us to make positive changes and do great things
for the environment. Without it, we are powerless to effect change. We’re
not going to send you door-to-door or ask you to harass your friends and
co-workers for donations - I promise. Why? Because nobody likes putting
people on the spot, and because there are way too many fun and exciting
approaches out there that are effective and don’t require a hard sell.
There’s no rule that says you can’t have fun while raising money for a good
cause!
My fundraising philosophy is simple: 1.
Plan things that people like to do. 2. Make it easy for likeminded
individuals to get together and learn something, enjoy each other’s company,
and have a great time. Fundraising can really be considered party planning
with a purpose - flex a little creative muscle, and raise a few bucks for
the planet in the process! It’s that easy. If this sounds like fun to you,
then give me a call! We have a number of projects in the works, from a
Halloween karaoke-a-thon to organic, vegetarian cooking lessons, and we
would certainly welcome any new ideas or energy you have to offer! Whether
you join us on a short or long term basis is up to you; we would love to
have you either way. Our next meeting is Tuesday, October 14 at 6 pm in
the Chapter Office (200 N. Michigan Avenue, Suite 505). Hope you can join us!!!
