Take Steps to Help Fight Global Climate Change

Carbon Cutting Steps  |  Political Steps  |  About Sierra Club

The scientific verdict is in: Global Climate Change is real and largely caused by human behavior. The average annual temperature in Chicago has already risen 2.6 degrees since 1980. How much worse can it get?

According to the Chicago Climate Action Plan, by the year 2070, Chicago could see summer temperatures reach 90+ degrees on more than 70 days and 100+ degrees on more than 30 days.

"Our health will be directly affected by more
very hot days and heat waves
."
-Tom Karl, Director of National Climatic Data Center (NCDC)

Fortunately, we can still save our City and our planet from the worst effects of global warming if we take the right steps today.
