Also known as the Purple False Foxglove, Purple Gerardia is an annual plant that grows over most of Illinois, from sandy prairies to wetlands. It usually reaches from 1-2.5 feet in height with some branching along the stem. The flowers tend to be about 1 inch long and light purple in color.
