Blooms: late June - late August
Buttonbush grows in marshy wetland areas, preferring semi-permanent flooded conditions where it can grow in 2-3 feet of water. Buttonbush is a vital part of the wetland habitat, as its seeds provide food for waterfowl and its plant cover provides living conditions for insects and reptiles. It can mature to anywhere between 3 and 10 feet tall, producing ball like heads covered in small, white flowers.
