Costco is proposing to build a new warehouse on environmentally sensitive land next to Middlefork Savannah Preserve in Lake Forest!

Environmental Significance

Illinois has lost more 90% of its original pre-settlement wetlands
Wetlands are a home to 42% of the state's threatened and endangered plants, birds, and animals; both the Blanding's turtle and the eastern prairie fringed orchid are at risk in the Middlefork Savannah Preserve
Wetlands reduce the impacts of flooding and drought, and act as natural water-filtration systems
Another Costco warehouse is just 12.5 miles away from Lake Forest.
