Adventures with Uncle Bob

Directions: From Harrisburg, IL , take Hwy 145 to Hwy 34 and follow to the Village of Eichorn.  Just north of town, turn right onto a gravel road and go about 5 miles. Upon arrival at a confusing intersection with three roads, make a sharp right (FR l495). Follow this road about four miles (passing a horse camp) and look for one of two wide fire lane trails. Either one will take you to the scenic area. Park at either entrance.

Upon hiking approximately 1.5 miles, you will arrive at a scenic canyon with interesting rock formations, huge rock glade, wide vistas. One option would be to continue west on the horse trail along the cliff line and end on a gravel road.
