2010 Trees In 2010

The Sierra Club was challenged to organize the planting of 2010 trees in the year 2010. We relished the chance to rise to the occasion and are more than half-way through the plantings! Public lands are being targeted throughout a three county region, helping non-profit and government agencies fulfill their missions and goals.

These are the locations where we have completed 1211 tree plantings:

  • Alton Public School District #11 (Alton and Godfrey) 31 Trees

  • Belk Park Greens (Wood River) 10 Trees

  • Two Rivers National Wildlife Refuge (Brussels) 1000 Trees

  • Lewis and Clark Community College (Godfrey) 20 Trees

  • Oblate's Forest Legacy Land (Godfrey) 30 Trees

  • Godfrey Parks and Recreation District (Godfrey) 7 Trees

  • Collinsville Area Recreation District (Collinsville, Maryville, and Granite City) 100 Trees

  • Village of Elsah (Elsah) 13 Trees

We still need to plant 799 trees! Do you have a public land you work with or visit frequently? Do you have a source of funds to help donate trees to public lands?
